Couple's goal is to cut through the fog

How the business got started: When their kids left the nest,
Blake and Marlene Giebler decided to do something different.
He was working for a veterinary supply company and she was managing a
restaurant when they decided to move from Kansas to the Ozarks to make
their new home.
Before moving, they spent a great deal of money replacing double-paned
windows that had become foggy over time. They were told there was nothing
else they could do about the problem, and the fog would knock a lot off
the home's sale price.
After they relocated, a nephew who is a window washer in Kansas
came across a company that specialized in "defogging" the windows,
Blake Giebler said. After seeing his nephew's success in Kansas,
Giebler started the business in the Ozarks.

A new solution for perpetually foggy windows
Window Defoggers wants to ‘heal your panes’By Susan Schell
Many Pacific Northwesterners enjoy a good view out of their windows.
But the view can be tainted by moisture buildup on windowpanes that can’t
be wiped off from the outside.
Newly built homes have been equipped with double-paned window glass since
the 1990s to provide additional insulation, but the damp weather can trap
condensation between the panes.
“Manufacturers know they can warranty windows for a certain time period,
but the glass will fail on super-exposed areas of the house,” said Jim Dewey,
proprietor of Gig Harbor Window Defoggers, a company that specializes in removing
condensation between the two pieces of glass.

Business owner gets the fog out of windows
By Daniel McCoyScott Bergmann likes to help people see more clearly. As owner of Pro Window, a window washing service in Winfield, Bergmann has spent the last 14 years bringing the outside world into better focus for homeowners and businesses. In his work, though, Bergmann said he saw foggy windows on a daily basis.
But because the problem was often caused by condensation between the panes of the window, there was really nothing he could do. As a dealer for Midwest Window Defoggers, Bergmann said he now has an answer.

Maybe window fix isn't a foggy idea

"Never say never," I have been told. Problem is, I never seem to get
that concept. Just a few months back, in response to a reader's question about a
fogged-up double-pane window, I wrote that the only option
was to replace the glass. In the past I have heard rumors
about various fixes for a "failed seal" but had never (there
I go again ... ) been convinced they were anything other
than a scam. But those plucky Canadians have come up with
what I believe is a great solution. More than one company
has been doing this in the frozen North and has now brought
the technology down here. Brett Hutton is the local
franchisee of Window Medics.
